Physiotherapy in Neurological Rehabilitation

At Sian Owen Physiotherapy, we use a variety of interventions based on

• The Bobath Approach
• Neuro-Developmental Treatment. (NDT) ndta.org

Both of these are approaches to the assessment and treatment of neurological conditions. 

As well as specific neurological treatment, we will provide you with a tailor-made exercise program including

• stretching
• strengthening
• cardiorespiratory fitness
• balance activities
• functional activities

We treat (but are not limited to)

• Stroke (CVA)
• Head Injury: Concussion and Post Concussion, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Parkinson’s disease
• Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
• Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS)
• ALS
• Ataxia

For some clients, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) may be indicated, for example for foot drop. In these cases, we work with the orthotist involved.
